Cynosure Case Study

Client Brief

The Displays 2 Go team were briefed by our client to create a luxurious lounge space within the floor plan of a market leading beauty and cosmetics conference in Double Bay, Sydney.

Our client wanted to showcase a number of its leading technology machines, which included a therapy bed and demonstration machine for attendees to utilize, whilst at all times maintaining the 'luxe lounge' feeling and avoid replicating a beauty clinic with the equipment.

By using our clients’ bold creative and marketing collateral we created cohesive, high-end lounge space with many customised, functional pieces. By incorporating LED lighting, bold graphic elements and clever design, we were able to draw attention to the brand and products with great success.

Displays 2 Go's in house design team created the vision for the client, and our skilled team of technicians across signage, carpentry, acrylic, lighting and power delivered an outstanding result for our on-site team to install. The entire delivery was project managed by the Displays 2 Go team, and the client’s exhibition bar now sits proudly in it’s North Shore offices for Friday night staff drinks!

Design and Planning

Our design team, in particular Dean, pulled two main ideas together to create concepts. The first was an 'Airport Lounge' style environment, complete with a faux aeroplane fuselage! The second was the 'Luxe Energy Lounge' which incorporated bold furniture and wall elements, along with large areas of strong brand presence.

Both concepts were presented, with the 'Luxe Energy Lounge' hitting the mark.  This was then developed into a set of full-scale concept drawings, with our client's requirements and budget in mind.

With all of the design elements settled on, our design team worked with our production technicians to understand the build requirements. From this, and our client's brand guidelines and digital assets, a full set of print-ready artwork was created for each element.

This project is a fantastic example of the value in using our design team from concept to creation, with the initial concept and design being created by the same team responsible for delivering the finished product. This streamlines the design and production processes, allowing Displays 2 Go to deliver maximum value to our clients.

Production and Logistics

Production of the stand involved a multi-faceted approach, given the broad range of materials and methods used to create the custom elements in the project.

Within the one build we used custom timber fabrication for the curved bar and brochure holder unit; aluminium extrusion with LED backlit printed fabric to create the vibrant light boxes; acrylic and timber in combination to create the striking entry signage, along with profile-cut self-adhesive vinyl lettering; custom floral arrangements on a large steel frame; and composite aluminium panels with acrylic for lightbox elements. Our in-house lighting technicians put the electrical elements together and our print team added the bold colour and branding to the striking elements pictured.

All these components were produced knowing that we needed to access a function room on the second level of a boutique hotel, with a short bump-in window. Employing all of our know-how allowed us to use clever modular design and the right materials to balance the high-end look of the finished stand, with the logistical nightmare that is working in busy Sydney hotel environments!

Installation of the project took our site team just two hours; the result of the hard work put into our logistics plan and management. Our experience in working in these challenging environments really comes to the fore with projects like this, allowing us to plan for the best result right from the start of the job!

Here's what people had to say.

Our client, Alana from Cynosure:

Thank you so much for the stand and displays and working with us in short notice to complete every single request as crazy or normal as it was ha-ha. You and your team have been wonderful and so efficient, we will keep you on file for our next ASAPS event in QLD in November!!

Venue Manager at Intercontinental Double Bay:

Many thanks for your kind note and great to hear the feedback from the installation crew. I was actually nearby the team last night and helped to shift some boxes that were incorrectly placed in the space and they were certainly a professional team which was clearly evident in the amazing finished product.
